The essay examines professional education in the state of Ceará considering Gramsci's concept of Unitary School. Through a bibliographical review, it addresses the problems associated with state professional education schools in Ceará, questioning to what extent the implementation of Gramsci's Unitary School is viable, considering the neoliberal public policies adopted by the state of Ceará. It concludes that professional education, as defended by neoliberalism, does not meet the principles of Gramsci's Unique and Unitary School.
