Collective Action, Organisation and the Struggle for an Alternative Food System: An Interview with Pocho, Union Trabajadores de la Tierra, Argentina
The following is an interview with Pocho, Union Trabajadores de la Tierra (UTT)
activist from the Argentinean province of Chubut. The interview highlights the
struggle based process of growth of the organisation, the labour centred strategy that
have characterised UTT, but also how workers direct economic concerns were built
into an economically alternative and ecologically sustainable project. The interview
put in evidence the challenges and opportunities for a social movement that accepts to
play on both the front of workers' rights and demands and that of market competition.
