Chihu Amparán, Aquiles
Gramsci y Maquiavelo
Why Machiavelli? Why look in an author so chronologically and ideologically so
distant the answers to the socialist revolution? The historical and political context
in which both thinkers write their works is very similar. In Machiavelli we found
the concept of double perspective, and his analysis of the Italian political context
that lead him to propose the rules that a prince must follow to found a new state.
Gramsci's reflections on Machiavelli, and The Prince, laid the foundations for the
conception of the politics, the State, and a strategy of social change in modern
societies.
