At the end of February, 1997, the Minister for Public Instruction and the University, Luigi Berlinguer (cousin of the former General Secretary of the Pci, Enrico) sent a ministerial circular to schools, urging them to include, for older students,"reflections on the figure of Antonio Gramsci in this the 60th anniversary of his death."
