A different version of the article which appeared in "Il Segno" (1998).«Giovanni Vailati, was born in 1863 at Crema and died in Rome in 1909. He was the only Italian voice, and in any case, the most mature, in the international concert of the new analytical philosophy of language.»In this article, the author presents «some of the analytical instruments which Vailati developed in his scientific study of human logical procedures....» He developed these within the framework of «ethical consciousness and civil commitment...» which connects Vailati's «"logical reformism" to the "intellectual and moral reformism"» of Antonio Gramsci.
