Black History and Cultural Empowerment: A Case Study

is part of American Journal of Education , CI , 4 , August, 1993 , 331(28)
«An examination of the impact of multicultural studies in public schools reveals that black history gives more prerogatives to blacks, as is proved by the case study of a school district. Antonio Gramsci's "Prison Notebooks," however, presents the view that despite the public schools' encouraging black empowerment, a multicultural approach hinders blacks from becoming all powerful, as cultures of other races are also taught».
