«Finocchiaro essentially makes two points in this disappointing study. Explicating what he calls Mosca's "theory of democratic elitism," he argues that Gramsci too was a "democratic elitist." On the basis of this simple comparison, he insists that "the difference between right and left" is not really "fundamental."» (Humanities Abstracts, May 2001).
