La Nuit de Juillet
An ode to Italy written after the fall of fascism. Gramsci and Matteotti figure in several of the couplets. There were a number of editions of this collection published between 1946 and 1955. This poem was brought to our attention by Prof. Eisuke Takemura. Also published in French in Rinascita, II, 3 (March, 1945) where the poem is dated July 25, 1943.
