Peter Gran Leads Discussions on Gramsci in Cairo
A symposium to celebrate the publication of Peter Gran's «Beyond Eurocentrism,» as well as his earlier work on «Islamic Roots of Capitalism». The importance of Gramsci's thought on these questions was emphasized by a number of participants, including Raouf Abbas, Atef Ahmad, Iman Farag, F. Ireton, E. Dinis, Diya Rashwan, Hilmi Shaarawi, and Mahmoud Amin El-Alem.
