Appunti su "linguaggio", "senso comune", e "traduzione" in Gramsci
Focusing on 44 of Notebook 10 (p. 1330 Geratana), this paper argues that Gramsci's concept of "language" is closely connected to other key-words, such as "culture", "common sense", and "worldview" of his theoretical apparatus. Gramsci's education as a linguistic in the Turin years is deemed important, but it also suggested that the linguistic concepts were later elaborated from both a political and theoretical viewpoint, resulting in more general issues concerning the «intellectual and moral» reform, where language will play a decisive role. In a sense, revolution is expected to determine a particular unification of the society, both linguistic and cultural. In this framework, the author tries to shed light on Gramsci's discussion of Vailati's concept of language, including topics such as scientific language and translation.
